PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) conducted a 7S Good Housekeeping Training via Microsoft Teams on August 7, 2025, with Ms. Mary Glory Caunin, ISO Consultant from JBDC Consultancy, as the resource speaker. The activity was open to all employees and aimed to strengthen workplace organization, efficiency, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
The training traced the origin of the 5S system, a Japanese way of working that emphasizes keeping only what is needed, ensuring accessibility, maintaining cleanliness, standardizing processes, and fostering discipline. This method has since evolved into the 7S framework, which stands for Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety, and Spirit. Ms. Caunin explained that the additional elements of Safety and Spirit reinforce employee well-being and morale, making the system more holistic and people-centered.
Participants were also introduced to the broader goals of implementing 7S, which include building good impressions from clients to earn trust, encouraging customers to prefer the institution’s products and services, achieving higher client satisfaction, reducing workplace accidents, minimizing waste, improving quality, enhancing productivity, and cultivating integrity among employees.
