PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) initiated its pursuit of the highest institutional quality certification by hosting a two-day preparatory workshop on January 26-27, 2026. The orientation for the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) Institutional Accreditation invited 74 administrators, office heads, and key personnel at the college’s Gender and Development Conference Room.
In her opening address, College President Joy M. Sorrosa framed the process as a core commitment to excellence. “Institutional accreditation requires discipline, honest self-assessment, meticulous documentation, and sustainable operations across all units,” she stated.
“We embrace this process not merely for recognition, but for our fundamental goal of continuous improvement for our students, personnel, and the communities we serve.”
Dr. Ma. Melanie N. Edig, Director for Quality Assurance, noted that this institutional review builds upon a foundational achievement. “We have 100% of our academic programs already accredited,” she said. “This milestone positions us to now seek validation for the entire institution.”
A team of AACCUP experts facilitated the workshop, led by Executive Director, Dr. Milabel E. Ho, including Dr. Emmylou B. Yanga, Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, Ms. Merelyn G. Dela Cruz, Mr. Jimson Lamarroza, and Mr. Dominic T. Martinez.
The sessions provided a strategic overview of the accreditation survey, a guide for compiling the required institutional portfolio, and instructions on utilizing DNSC’s data to demonstrate compliance across nine key assessment areas.
