
PANABO CITY – The College Board and Secretarial Affairs Unit facilitated a one-day re-orientation seminar on its operations and processes on January 21, 2026, at the Gender and Development Conference Room. The seminar aimed to improve efficiency and collaboration among units and proponents.
The activity was attended by members of the College Management Team, Unit Heads, Program Chairs, the Academic Council, College Editors, and selected support staff.
In her opening address, College President Joy M. Sorrosa stated, “Today, we will walk through the nitty-gritty of our operations. The details may seem small, but they are essential for us to be able to work efficiently and to adhere to institutional compliance.”
The seminar featured six focused sessions. The first session, led by Mr. Jeremy B. Barnido, detailed the roles of the Governing Board of Trustees and College Councils, as well as the procedural protocols for board actions, council meetings, and the conduct of a referendum. Ms. Khristine Liezle S. Arnilla followed with a session on the Call for Agenda Proposals, the logistical requirements of a Completed Staff Work, and other proposed templates.
Atty. Lorevill S. Pinoon-Fontanilla clarified the differences and applications of a Certificate of Legal Review versus a Letter of Endorsement. Another session, led by Mr. Mer Jun Q. Cañas, provided reminders on protocols for foreign travels and Memoranda of Agreement/Understanding (MOA/U).
Further aligning the institution’s work with global frameworks, Dr. Mark Ronald S. Manseguiao explained the processes and significance of the SECCI-SDG and SETI-SDG initiatives. Finally, Prof. Sadie D. Law-ay concluded the technical presentations by outlining the procedures for securing the required Gender and Development (GAD) Certification.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Melissa G. Dalumay, Director for Executive Affairs, said, “We are here to support one another so that our operations not only run smoothly but also reflect the excellence and goals of our institution.”
