PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), through its Quality Assurance Office, conducted a Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions Awareness Training on August 20, 2025, at the DNSC Audio-Visual Room, with Mr. Vincent Ellie B. Jaramilla serving as the resource trainer.
During the training, participants learned that a root cause refers to the underlying factor that sets off a chain of events leading to a problem, defect, or nonconformance. By addressing this “true reason” rather than merely treating the symptoms, organizations can ensure that the same issues do not recur. Root Cause Analysis (RCA) was introduced as a systematic process that includes identifying, containing, and analyzing a problem, determining its root cause, implementing corrective actions, and validating their effectiveness.
For a state college like DNSC, this training is particularly valuable as the institution continues to uphold academic excellence and public service. Applying proper root cause analysis ensures that challenges in operations, instruction, research, and extension are resolved at their source, leading to greater efficiency, accountability, and improved service delivery to students and stakeholders.
