PANABO CITY – To continue its efforts in ensuring the safety of its stakeholders and clienteles, Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) voluntarily applied for the Safety Seal Certification, issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Last December 6, 2022, a team of evaluators visited the campus to check the adherence of the College to the minimum health standards that were put in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The evaluators were Ms. Yolanda Balana, City Local Government Operations Officer VII, Ms. Rochel Betonio, DILG-Panabo City representative, SFO2 Catherin Cariaga, Bureau of Fire – Panabo representative, and PLT. Manuel Aspellaga, Jr., Philippine National Police – Panabo representative. Some of the areas under evaluation were the utilization of the StaySafe.ph application among the employees of the College, the dissemination and implementation of COVID-19-related protocols and health referral system, waste management, availability of isolation area/s and well-ventilated indoor spaces, compliance to ordinances issued by the Department of Health and other regulating agencies, and more.

The team that facilitated the application of the College was led by the Director for Administrative Services, Mr. Leo Rayon, Jr, assisted by the heads of medical services unit, guidance, counselling, and testing unit, public information, engineering and infrastructure, disaster risk management committee, and utility services. College President Joy M. Sorrosa welcomed the evaluators and personally received the safety seal certification during the visit.
