PANABO CITY – The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), in support of the 18-day campaign to end violence against women, organized a series of artistic competition to further spread awareness to the gender-based issues and advocacies under the campaign.

One of the competitions was the “Labing-walong Tula Para Kay Malayang Juana”, a collection of 18 spoken poetries from different participants that were members of the council throughout the country. Davao del Norte State College’s Dr. Mark Van M. Buladaco, Dean of the Institute of Computing, won the second prize of the contest. His piece, “Babae Ka! Mahalaga Ka!”, highlighted the significance of women in the society.

The judging was done on November 24 to December 12, 2022, and the winners were announced virtually, via the Research Pod Facebook page. The winners were given certificates and cash prizes.
