PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s Disaster Resilience and Administration Committee (DRAC) spearheaded a training and Workshop on Disaster Reduction and Management Plan/ Contingency Plan on May 4 – 5, 2023, at the Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Good Governance conference room.

The activity was done to increase awareness of the importance of DRM, equip relevant personnel with knowledge of DRM planning, and provide practical tools and guidelines for the development of a DRM and contingency plan. This plan includes the following components; prevention and mitigation plan, preparedness plan, response plan, recovery and rehabilitation plan, contingency plan, and information, education, and communication advocacy plan.

The participants were members of the DRAC and teaching personnel of the Bachelor of Disaster Resiliency and Management program. The resource speakers were Mr. Eric R. Rosillo and Ms. Noviejane M. Rojas from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Davao del Norte.
