PANABO CITY – The Learning and Information Resource Center (LIRC) at Davao del Norte State College joined forces with the Society of English Major Students (SEMS) to organize a series of activities in celebration of the 89th National Book Month and 33rd Library and Information Services Month. The events extended throughout November and were participated by faculty members, staff, and students.

The festivities started with On-the-Spot Trivia Questions, Unscramble the Scrambled Words, and I Caught You Reading on November 13, 2023, in an online platform and during the flag-raising ceremony. A Seminar-Workshop on Canva was given to library staff and e-library administrators on November 14. Student-related competitions included Essay Writing, On-the-Spot One-Shot Story Making, Book Face Photo Contest, On-the-Spot Poster Making and Digital Poster Making Contests, Tone Color Contest, Book Making Competition, My Day in the Library Tiktok Challenge, Impromptu Speaking, and Storytelling.

The highlight of the event was the Culmination Day on November 29, 2023, which featured the Character Parade for Students and Your Face Look Familiar: Filipino Book Character Impersonation. The objectives of the activity were the promotion of literacy and lifelong learning through reading materials and resources and strengthening access to information.
