PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s campus in the Municipality of Carmen (DNSC-Carmen Campus) was officially inaugurated last November 20, 2023. Officials from DNSC and partners from the local government units attended the event.

One of the principal lobbyists of Republic Act No. 11855, or the act establishing the campuses of DNSC in the Municipalities of Carmen, Sto. Tomas and the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte 2nd District Representative, Hon. Alan R. Dujali, highlighted his aspirations for the campus during the short ceremony, “If we equip and nourish our children with proper and good education, then they will be rewarded with better economic opportunities to sustain them to their lifetime. This will help our province become a progressive one.”

DNSC College President Joy M. Sorrosa expressed his gratitude for the support of the local and congressional government units in ensuring that quality education is accessible to all. “We hope to offer more programs in the future. As mentioned earlier, we will start with strengthening two programs for this campus, the Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Science in Criminology,” she added.

Acted as witnesses of the event were Municipality of Carmen Mayor, Hon. Leonidas R. Bahague, Former Municipality of Carmen Mayor, Dr. Virginia J. Perandos, Council Committee Chair on Education, Hon. Angelina Camacho, Barangay Captain of Ising, Mr. Francis Castilla, other councilors and officials, as well as several members of the DNSC management team.
