PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, through its Quality Assurance Office, facilitated the first of two Internal Quality Audits for 2024 to assess the adherence of college processes to the standards set in the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. DNSC has been ISO-certified since 2017.

Internal Quality Auditors conducted their evaluation starting January 29, and was extended until February 8, 2024, due to unfavorable weather conditions. College President Joy M. Sorrosa echoed Denzel Washington’s commencement speech during her welcome message on the opening day of the audit, highlighting “four key ideas people need to remember: put God first, take risks, achieve, and maintain discipline”.

Process owners could receive five possible findings. These are positive findings, opportunities for improvement, observations, minor non-conformance, and major non-conformance. During the closing meeting, the IQA team reported no major non-conformance with plenty of positive findings and observations.

The College’s adherence to ISO standards is proven valuable in maintaining and improving quality, identifying and mitigating risks in operations, optimization of resources, and fostering a culture of excellence.
