PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) conducted Navigating Copyright: a Seminar for Educators in Teacher Training, as part of the initiatives of the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) at the DNSC Audio-Visual Room (AVR) on April 3, 2024.

“Our goal today is not just to improve our understanding of copyright law, but also to create a collaborative environment where we can exchange ideas, address concerns, and work towards solutions that support both innovation and respect for intellectual property,” explained Dr. Arnold M. Duping, Dean of the Institute of Teacher Education, during his welcome remarks.

Dr. Victoria O. Ligan, Corporate Head for the Research and Development Institute of Joji Ilagan International Schools, was the resource speaker of the activity. She discussed different aspects of copyright laws, recent legal developments, and finding practical ways to navigate through intellectual property rights.

The participants also had a productive forum on the process of copyrighting instructional materials in the academe. The activity was done to encourage innovation and creativity among faculty members while protecting academic integrity and intellectual property.
