PANABO CITY – The Office of the College President, upon the advice of the Human Resource Management Office, released a memorandum, suspending work on October 25, 2023, from 1 PM to 5 PM to allow all employees to attend in Mind your Mind: A Mental Health Seminar on Prioritizing Wellness and Holistic Well-Being. The activity is in support of the Mental Health Awareness (MHA) month.

The seminar was facilitated by Nessa Maureen D. Cabiles, a registered psychometrician and psychologist. Davao del Norte State College’s teaching and non-teaching staff enjoyed various self-awareness exercises and tips on stress management. It is emphasized in the talk that in order to achieve DNSC’s goal of providing the best service to its clientele, personnel should take care of their selves first. The participants were also reminded that a healthy mind is a product of a healthy body. They were encouraged to maintain a well-balanced diet and consistent exercise.

The primary objective of the MHA month celebration is to draw attention and action on mental health issues around the globe. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right.”
