PANABO CITY – To fulfill the institute’s goal of continuous professional upgrading and skills enhancement of its pool of faculty, Davao del Norte State College’s Institute of Computing (DNSC-IC) sent its faculty members to vie for the Information Technology Specialist and Microsoft Office Certifications. The modules and examinations were delivered from November 29 to December 9, 2022 through various digital platforms.
IC Dean Mark Van Buladaco, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Program (BSIT) Chair Jonilyn Dabalos, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) Chair Hazel Gameng, Jomarie Dave Java, Glendell Jadraque, Pamela Grace Denila, and College Engineer Joenabel Ganiera were able to get the Microsoft Office Specialist – Excel (Associate) Certification. Laarni Ibañez, Jumar Buladaco, and Data Protection Officer Ian Jay Padios earned the IT Specialist (ITS) Certification on Networking, while Vice President for Administration and Finance Reir Erlinda Cutad and Jovito Bolacoy Jr. were awarded the ITS Certification on Java. Frank Lou Ubay was certified as an IT Specialist on JavaScript.
Technical Support Services Unit Head Ariel Gamao and Software Development Coordinator Ian Val Delos Reyes completed the certification on ITS – Python, as well as Rogelio Masangkay on ITS – Cybersecurity. Jovanne Alejandrino and El Jan Alburo were able to secure the certification on ITS- HTML and CSS.
The institute is looking to establish partnership with a technology provider to continue the administering of the certifications to other faculty members, and also to its students and other professionals. The partnership hopes to provide educational institutions with the appropriate tools, skills, and competencies to thrive in the digital age.
