PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), through its Learning and Information Resource Center (LIRC) and the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAdS), forged a partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Panabo City to materialize the project; Skill Up Teaching Strategies: Training on Designing, Adapting, and Implementing Teaching Strategies for Learners with Disabilities, Giftedness, and Talents.

One of the activities of the project focused on Building a Specialized Library for Special Education Literature. The project team visited Little Panay Elementary School on April 25, 2024 and met with students from grades four to six for a storytelling session, educational film viewing, and book drive.

Dr, Nickel Jean L. Sastine, IAdS Dean, gave an opening message, while Ms. Rubbie Labanon, Principal, welcomed DNSC’s team. After the interactive sessions with the students, the LIRC personnel had a discussion on library organization to identified representatives of the elementary school.

To cap the activity, Dr. Marilou D. Junsay, GraSS Adviser, delivered the closing remarks. By enriching SPED literature in libraries, the project aims to create a more inclusive and empowering learning environment for students of all abilities.
