PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College, represented by President Joy M. Sorrosa, met with the Dejesica family to officially sign the Deed of Donation for a two-hectare land in Lunga-og, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte. This land will be the future site of the DNSC Santo Tomas campus.

The campus operations were legalized through Republic Act No. 11855, titled the “Act Establishing Campuses of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) in the Municipalities of Carmen and Sto. Tomas, and the Island Garden City of Samal, Province of Davao del Norte, and Appropriating Funds Therefor,” which lapsed into law on June 18, 2022.

The family’s generosity stems from the goal of Hon. Roland S. Dejesica, the current municipal mayor of Sto. Tomas, to enhance the quality of higher education for his constituents. He further pledged to donate another hectare for the planned sports complex for the campus to help with the holistic development and wellness of the students.

The donated land is currently the site of the ongoing construction of an academic building, made possible through the initiative of Congress representative Alan R. Dujali, one of the key proponents of RA No. 11855. President Sorrosa expressed her gratitude to the Dejesica family for their significant contribution to the progress and educational advancement in the area.
