PANABO CITY – The Gender and Development Office of the City of Panabo hosted several Literary and Musical Arts events to amplify the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. Included in the line-up of activities was the Visual Impact Event, an extemporaneous speaking competition, open for tertiary level students. It was conducted on December 12,2022 at the Panabo City Freedom Gym.

Students from Davao del Norte State College were able to win the first, second, and third prizes. Almer Kaye Aguadera (Bachelor of Arts in Communication student) was declared as champion, followed by second placer, Vissae Bel Agus (BA Comm student), and third placer, Via Sumalo (Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English student). They were mentored by Ms. Czarina Nicole Lara Lanes. Other participants were from the University of Mindanao (Panabo), University of Mindanao (Davao), and ACES Polytechnic College.

The participants were able to form well-structured insights on the various photos that were related to the VAW-Free Philippines campaign. DNSC strongly supports efforts to attain gender equality, eradication of all forms of violence and abuses, and the establishment of safe spaces for all.
