PANABO CITY – Davao del Norte State College’s President, Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa, received officers from the 89th Infantry (Makatao) Batallion of the Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry (Agila) Division to discuss the role of schools in ensuring peaceful and conflict-resilient communities.

The College expressed its openness to collaborating with government agencies and units, especially on community peacebuilding initiatives. The officers suggested an information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign for the youth to avoid involvement in terrorism. It will be part of the unit’s sustainability approach in denying the resurgence of terrorist groups in cleared areas.

DNSC hopes to contribute to building conflict-resilient communities by fostering education and values that contribute to conflict prevention, resolution, and reconciliation.
