PANABO CITY – More than thirty office heads from Davao del Norte State College, led by Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Girley S. Gumanao, and Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Reir E. Erlinda Cutad, embarked on a three-day trip to visit Caraga State University in Butuan City, University of Science and Technology of the Philippines in Cagayan de Oro City, and Central Mindanao University in the province of Bukidnon.

The benchmarking activity lasted from December 1 to 3, 2022 and was facilitated by the Library Services. The delegation arrived at CSU on the first day and was received by Dr. Fernando T. Herrera, Quality Management Services Director, and the rest of its academic, student services, and library services in-charge. The team got to tour CSU’s state-of-the-art library and learning commons, dubbed as HERO building. The two institutions were able to share insights on digitalizing various processes and the development of information systems to ease academic and administrative operations.

USTP received the DNSC contingent on the second day, with warm welcomes from its student services and library services. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jocelyn B. Barbosa, and Director for Student Affairs, Mr. Floreto B. Quinito, Jr., spearheaded the discussion. For CMU, Dr. Ronel V. Sudaria, Vice President for Administration, assisted by the university deans and directors, catered the questions of the DNSC delegation on quality assurance, implementation of CHED-related issuances and memoranda, and more.

One of the objectives of this benchmarking activity is to develop comprehensive policies and processes to improve DNSC’s delivery of services and to help prepare the College for university hood by learning from those who were already ahead in the academe.
