PANABO CITY – The Transformative Academic Practice for Higher Education in the Philippines (TAPHEP) Project, an initiative that is funded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and is implemented by the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and the University of Liverpool, provided a Seminar-Workshop on Academic Practice (SWAP) to selected faculty members of Davao del Norte State College on September 11, 2023.

Among the module topics were the relevant frameworks for effective teaching and learning in higher education, the global landscape of higher education, theories of learning, constructive alignment, philosophy of teaching and reflective teaching, inclusive learning environments and continuing professional development, and communities of practice. The resource speakers were Lorey F. Tanaleon, Ph.D. from West Visayas State University (WVSU), Crist John M. Pastor, Ph.D. of the Philippine Normal University (PNU), Anna Floresca F. Firmalino of UPLB, and Mark Oliver S. Llangco of UPLB.

The project aims to introduce future-proof academic practice to Philippine higher education. The activity was facilitated by the Research, Extension, and Production unit.
