PANABO CITY – The high school alumni of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), formerly Davao del Norte School of Fisheries (DaNSoF) and Davao Regional Institute of Fisheries Technology (DRIFT), gathered for the Inaugural High School Grand Alumni Homecoming on December 10, 2023, at the DNSC gymnasium. This marked a significant milestone for fortifying connections and fostering camaraderie within the alumni community.

College President Joy M. Sorrosa expressed her gratitude to the high school alumni for making time to reconnect with batchmates and mentors, and hear about the plans of the current administration. She emphasized that all stakeholders, including the alumni, will play a vital role in the transition of DNSC to a university.

The homecoming festivities commenced with a motorcade, before transitioning into the opening program. Each graduating batch had the opportunity to bask in recognition and express gratitude by presenting tokens to their high school mentors. Mr. Samuel A. Plando, the coordinator for alumni affairs, encouraged the batches to pledge support for the envisioned DNSC Alumni Center. The appeal resulted in over PhP 400,000 pledges from the attendees.

The event was also supported by the DNSC live band and dance troupe, who entertained the attendees through their intermission numbers. The alumni center will serve as a facility to bridge the institution and its graduates, creating a lifelong connection that can generate projects and opportunities for the DNSC community.
