PANABO CITY – Officials from Davao del Norte State College and tribal council members of the Ata-Manobo indigenous cultural community in the Municipality of Talaingod gathered for the Turnover Ceremony of Water System in the Datu Jose A. Libayao (DJAL) – DNSC Extension Campus on October 24, 2023.

The extension campus is located at Sitio Salawao, Brgy. Sto. Nino, Talaingod, Davao del Norte. The Design and Build project of the Construction and Installation of Water System started on June 6, 2022 with a budget of PhP 14,723,500. The scope of work covered the construction of a pump house with five elevated water tanks with a mechanical room and water treatment room, a water treatment system that enables the collection of wastewater and rainwater for non-potable utilization, a rainwater collection system, and the installation of a transformer. The services were provided by FFJJ Construction.

DNSC recognized the importance of clean water in sustaining the operations of the extension campus. Initially, clean water was only available through water delivery in tanks or manual water collection from a spring a few kilometers from the campus site. In her message, College President Joy M. Sorrosa reiterated DNSC’s commitment to bringing development in Talaingod that is culturally sensitive and inclusive.
