PANABO CITY – The first term of the presidency of Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa is set to end in March 2023. She is currently being evaluated for a possible reappointment for a second term. Part of the evaluation was the public forum conducted last January 17, 2023.

Pres. Sorrosa presented the College’s milestones and her administration’s four-year accomplishments. She reminded the stakeholders of her pledges when she applied for the presidency, coupled with transformative results. The activity was open to the public and was attended by representatives of the students, faculty members, administrative and support staff, industry partners, alumni, and private sectors. The representatives were heavily involved in the question and answer and interview portions of the forum.

In her presentation, the president started with the vision, mission, quality policy statement, and strategic plan that were crafted during her term, followed by the accomplishments under (1) sustainable academic and research excellence, (2) high-performing workforce, (3) safe, secure, and supportive environments, (4) organizational effectiveness, and (5) community and industry engagement.

One of the highlights of her presentation was her ways forward or plans if given the chance to continue serving the College. Her top priority is to usher DNSC into Davao del Norte State University. New programs will be offered in the main and extension campuses and Research, Extension, and Production Centers will be operationalized.

The results will be finalized by the Board of Trustees, the highest governing body of the College.
