PANABO CITY – Members of the management team and selected college officials attended Davao del Norte State College’s Strategic Planning for 2025 – 2029 on April 18 – 19, 2024, at the DNSC Gender and Development Conference Room.

The session commenced with an overview of the rationale behind the five-year strategic plan, led by Dr. Charlo Bianci M. Guray, Head of the Planning and Resource Management Office. Following his presentation, Ms. Arcelyn B. Llevado reported on the progress of DNSC’s Strategic Plan for 2019-2023, highlighting both strengths and areas needing improvement. She emphasized the need for a catch-up mechanism to meet the remaining targets before the current plan period.

Ms. Llevado also provided guidelines for crafting the Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) for the Calendar Year 2024. To start the strategic planning workshop, Planning Officer III Joshua P. Elardo delved into the Planning Environment, addressing current regional, national, and global trends.

The participants were grouped according to the nature of their work and presented inputs on Environmental Scanning using Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threat (SWOT) Analysis and Threats, Opportunities, Weaknesses, Strengths (TOWS) frameworks. On day two, the collaborative efforts among teams produced three options for the College’s Vision, Mission, and Goals. The new VMGOs are responsive to the needs that were discussed in the planning environment.

College President Joy M. Sorrosa conveyed her satisfaction with the commitment and valuable insights shared by the participants. She emphasized the power of a unified team driven by a common purpose and a genuine willingness to serve others.
